Homewood,Alabama – the entertainment world is mourning the loss of rising star Hudson Meek,who passed away on december 27 at the young age of 16. Meek, best known for his role as Young Baby in the 2017 action film “Baby Driver,” left an indelible mark on those who knew him, both on and off the screen.

“Our hearts are broken to share that Hudson Meek went home to be with Jesus tonight,” his family shared on Instagram. “His 16 years on this earth were far too short, but he accomplished so much and substantially impacted everyone he met.”

Meek’s breakout role in “Baby Driver,” filmed in Atlanta, showcased his talent alongside stars Ansel Elgort, Lily James, and Jamie Foxx. He also appeared in the film “the School Duel” and made guest appearances on television shows like “Genius” and “Legacies.”

J Pervis Talent Agency, which represented Meek, remembered him as “an exceptional young talent, whose dedication, passion and promise shone brightly within our industry.”

“Over the past 10 years, he contributed so much to the spirit of our agency and his loss leaves a void that will be deeply felt by all of us,” the agency said in a statement. “Hudson was more than just a talent, he was a source of inspiration and touched so many lives with his enthusiasm, kindness, smile and innate ability to light up a room and never meet a stranger.”

Meek’s passion for acting extended beyond the screen. He was actively involved in church groups and played football at Vestavia Hills High School, where he was a sophomore.

According to his obituary, several film and television projects meek had been working on will be released in 2025.

A festivity of life service will be held at Dawson Memorial Baptist Church in Homewood, Alabama, at 11:30 a.m. CDT on December 28. The service will be livestreamed through Meek’s Instagram accounts, @hudsonmeek and @hudson_meek.

Sarah: Yeah! He passed away. It’s so incredibly sad. He was only sixteen.

Sarah: I believe he died after falling from a moving vehicle, but the details are still coming out.It’s just so heartbreaking. He had such a bright future ahead of him.

Mark: I remember him in “Baby Driver.” He was so talented; he really stole the show with that performance.
