Teen Burn Victim Airlifted to U.S. for Specialized Care
Galveston, Texas – Fourteen-year-old Sol Natalia, who suffered severe burns in a horrific attack in Culiacán, Mexico, was airlifted to Galveston, Texas, on Tuesday. The young girl will receive specialized treatment at a children’s burn center in the United States, thanks to the Shriners institution.
Natalia sustained burns over 80% of her body during an attack on a boutique in the Lázaro Cárdenas neighborhood of Culiacán. the incident, which also resulted in the death of a man, shocked the community.
“Her condition is delicate,but she received excellent care at the Sinaloa Pediatric Hospital,” said Dante Ramos Franco,the Shriners ambassador in Sinaloa. “Now, the focus is on her recovery. She will undergo extensive wound care and treatment, which will be a long and challenging process.”
Natalia was transported from the hospital around 11:00 a.m. local time, accompanied by a family member. Her father will be by her side throughout her treatment and recovery, which is expected to last more then six months.
