PORTLAND,ore. – A teenage boy lost his life in a tragic rollover crash in north Portland on Saturday night, and police are investigating whether the incident was linked to a street takeover event.the crash occurred around 10:30 p.m.at the intersection of North Marine Drive and North Leadbetter Road. Responding officers found the driver, who police say was participating in a street takeover with other drivers and spectators, at the scene. The driver remained and cooperated with authorities.
Police have not released the teenager’s age, only confirming he was a minor.

“I don’t live far from here and I think there’s been at least four deaths along Marine Drive,” said PJ, a concerned neighbor, in a previous interview with FOX 12. “Are we going to regulate it? Are we going to put a light in here?” added Travis, another resident.
While some witnesses remained at the scene, police believe others may have left before officers arrived. The Portland Police Bureau (PPB) is urging anyone with facts about the crash to come forward.
