Phuwarak Khamsing’s Dream Debut: 16-Year-Old Scores in 15 Seconds
Phuwarak Khamsing, the 16-year-old son of Olympic gold medalist Somrak, made a stunning professional football debut with Nara United, scoring a goal in just 15 seconds.
Khamsing’s debut was nothing short of remarkable. Having signed with Nara United, a team from Thai League 3, Zone South, he had the opportunity to play in the professional football league for the first time in a match against Yala City at the Narathiwat Provincial Administrative Institute stadium.
Nara United took a 1-0 lead before sending Khamsing onto the field in the 90 + 3 minutes of injury time. With the crowd cheering, Khamsing made his move, scoring a goal for Nara United to win 2-0. This was not only his first goal in the professional league but also a historic moment for the young player.
Khamsing’s reaction to his debut goal was one of shock and delight. “I didn’t think I could score,” he said. “We were sent down in the last minute of the game. There is hardly any chance, but as luck would have it, fate is on your side. From the counter-attack game, I saw Kaio bring the ball up, so I ran and read the game: He definitely couldn’t catch the ball. Because the ball ricocheted, I didn’t continue to run and wait. When I got the ball, I took 1 shot because if I shot it, I wasn’t sure if it would go in or not. When I shot it, everything felt like a dream. When I looked at the stand, everyone was cheering, he was happy.”
