Teenager Behind Shocking Bosanska Krupa Cop Killing Taken into Custody

In yesterday’s hearing at the Municipal Court in Bosanska Krupa, a young person who committed the murder of one and seriously injured another police officer at the Police Station in Bosanska Krupa was ordered to prison – it was confirmed by the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office in Bihać.

The detention, ordered at the request of the Una-Sana Canton Prosecutor’s Office, will last 30 days, during which investigations will be carried out, including expert reports, in order to gather all the relevant facts necessary to explain’ this crime.

The attack happened on the night of October 24, when a young man, armed with a knife, broke into the Bosanska Krupa Police Station and attacked two police officers on duty, Ozren Maran and Avda Hasanović. In the attack, Maran suffered fatal injuries, while Hasanović was seriously wounded.

This tragic event shocked the citizens and caused a number of reactions from the public.

After an intensive search, on the night of October 25, members of the Specialist Support Unit (JSP) and investigators from the unit price of the Canton Una-Sana, with the support of the Federal Administration of Police (FUP) and the Investigation and Defense of the State Agency arrested ( SIPA) seven people involved in this action.

The attack on the police station in Bosanska Krupa was characterized as an act of terrorism, and the investigation was taken over by the Prosecutor’s Office in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During the next month, detailed investigations and evidence gathering will be carried out in order to determine exactly the motives and circumstances that led to this attack.
