A Tennessee family of four, including a seven-month-old baby, has been found dead in Lake County, sparking a homicide inquiry. authorities have taken a suspect, identified as 28-year-old DeAnthony drummond, into custody. The tragedy has sent shockwaves through the community, and details emerging about Drummond’s extensive criminal history are raising serious questions about the parole system.
## The Crime and Investigation
The victims have been identified as Matthew Wilson, Adrianna Wilson, their seven-month-old daughter, Weslynne Wilson, and Courtney Rose. Law enforcement discovered the bodies at a residence in Lake County on Saturday, initiating a swift investigation that quickly focused on Drummond.
Vehicles have been seized by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation as part of the ongoing investigation. While details surrounding the circumstances of the deaths remain limited as the investigation unfolds, authorities have confirmed Drummond is a person of interest.## The Suspect
Records reveal DeAnthony Drummond has a lengthy and violent criminal history, and was shockingly out on bond at the time of the murders.
Drummond was released from prison in September 2024 after serving a 10-year sentance for aggravated robbery. The conviction stemmed from a 2014 incident in Jackson, Tennessee, were, at the age of 16, he robbed a gas station at gunpoint.
Just two months after his release, in November 2024, Drummond was charged with attempted murder and drug-related crimes *while incarcerated* at the Northwest Correctional Complex in Lake County. He currently faces additional charges, including attempted first-degree murder and further drug offenses related too his time in prison.
A disturbing letter from West Tennessee District Attorney Jody Pickens to the Tennessee Board of Parole in december 2020,obtained by WSMV Nashville, paints a chilling picture of Drummond. Pickens described him as “not capable of living among society.” The letter detailed recorded phone calls Drummond made to his father, containing explicit threats against potential jurors, stating they would “regret” their decision and that he’d “be out one day.”
Pickens further identified Drummond as a “confirmed” member of the Vice Lords, a notorious and violent street gang with a significant presence within the U.S. prison system.
Prior to the 2020 parole hearing, Drummond had accumulated over two dozen disciplinary infractions while incarcerated. These included possession of a deadly weapon, assault, refusal to submit to drug testing, and documented gang activity. This pattern of behavior clearly demonstrates a disregard for rules and a propensity for violence.
## The Victims
The tragic loss of Matthew, adrianna, Weslynne, and Courtney has deeply impacted their friends and family, who are now grappling with unimaginable grief.Amanda Myatt, Wilson’s sister, has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help cover the funeral expenses for the four victims.”Matthew and Adrianna were very loving parents to beautiful baby girl whom that they got to love and support her for 7 months,” she wrote. “Courtney was sole provider for her kids.”
A separate GoFundMe campaign, organized by Wilson’s grandmother, aims to “provide him a proper service.” A funeral service for Wilson is scheduled to be held on Tuesday afternoon in Newbern, Tennessee.
A friend of Wilson’s partner, Williams, described her to CBS affiliate News Channel 3 as “the sweetest person” who ”loved being a mama.” The couple’s most recent social media post was shared just a day after the birth of their daughter, a poignant reminder of the joy that has been stolen.
The last publicly visible post on a Facebook profile believed to belong to Rose, dated May, shows her lovingly beside her infant granddaughter.
