Despite a reported shift to TSMC for fabrication of Google’s Tensor G5 chip, the upcoming Pixel 10 series will still incorporate Samsung technology. Leaks suggest the Tensor G5 will use Samsung’s Exynos 5400 5G modem.
The Google Tensor chips have historically relied on Samsung for both development and manufacturing. However, the Tensor G5 is expected to be fabricated by TSMC. Even with this change,a samsung connection remains.

specifications for the tensor G5 processor, expected to debut in the Pixel 10 Pro, recently surfaced on the Telegram channel Mystic Leaks. The chip features an octa-core CPU configuration, including Cortex-X4, Cortex-X725, and Cortex-A520 cores. The leak indicates the inclusion of Samsung’s Exynos 5400 modem.

The Exynos 5400 is the same 5G modem found in previous Tensor chips and the Exynos 2400 series used in the Galaxy S24. This modem, built on a 4nm process, supports both mmWave and sub-6GHz 5G networks.
The modem achieves maximum download speeds of 14.79Gbps by combining FR1 and FR2 bandwidth, and 11.2Gbps with 1024 QAM using only FR1. It also offers NB-IoT and NR NTN connectivity, enabling low-earth orbit satellite dialog for emergency services.

Beyond the modem, the Pixel 10 Pro may also utilize Samsung-made DRAM (memory) and UFS (storage). It is indeed possible that Samsung Display will supply OLED panels for the Pixel 10 series as well.
Despite earlier reports suggesting a MediaTek 5G modem for the Tensor G5, leaked data points to the continued use of Samsung components. Even with the move to TSMC for chip fabrication, Samsung remains a key supplier for the next generation of Pixel phones.
What’s next
The Pixel 10 series is expected to launch next month, bringing further details about the Tensor G5 chip and its capabilities. The continued partnership between Google and Samsung ensures that even with changes in manufacturing, key components will still come from the South Korean tech giant.
