Ternium Expoagro Award Launches with AI Debut
Ternium Expoagro Award Celebrates a Decade of agribusiness Innovation
BUENOS AIRES – Expoagro and Ternium have announced the opening of registration for the 10th annual Ternium Expoagro Award, a competition recognizing outstanding innovation and technological progress in agricultural machinery.
The award aims to stimulate the growth of domestic technology, enhance the competitiveness of the agro-industrial sector, and foster more efficient and lasting production methods. Over the past decade, the competition has recognized 122 developments originating from Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Formosa, Santa Fe, and the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires.
Martín Schvartzman,CEO,emphasized the award’s impact. “reaching the 10th edition of the Ternium Expoagro Award is concrete proof of its value and its impact on agribusiness,” Schvartzman said. “Throughout these years, the contest has managed to accompany the technological evolution of the sector, recognizing and enhancing developments that today are a true national pride.”
He added, “It is an award that not only celebrates innovation but also promotes the growth of the entire agroindustrial chain.”
award Categories expand to Include Artificial Intelligence
The competition will evaluate entries across a range of categories, including sowing, fertilization, plant protection, harvesting, post-harvesting, multifunction machinery, fodder production, renewable energy and energy efficiency, tractors, robotics, and irrigation. This year, a new category has been added to reflect the growing importance of artificial intelligence in agriculture.
Andrea Fiadone, Chief of Expoagro Content and Prize Coordinator, explained the addition of the artificial intelligence category. “More and more developments incorporate AI and asked for a space to be recognized,” fiadone said.
“The condition is that the development is installed and operating on an agricultural or livestock machine, in other words, its real functioning can be demonstrated,” she added.
The inclusion of artificial intelligence follows the earlier addition of a robotics category, demonstrating the award’s commitment to recognizing the evolving landscape of agricultural technology.
expert Jury to Evaluate Projects
Each year, a panel of Argentine and German experts evaluates the projects based on their impact on agro-industrial activity. The jury will award three gold, three silver, and three bronze medals, as well as special mentions.
José del boca, Commercial Vice President of Ternium Argentina, spoke about the importance of the award.”This award highlights talent throughout the country and acts as a springboard for many companies,” del Boca said. “Winning the Ternium Expoagro Award for agribusiness innovation means prestige, drives exports, and encourages local technological development.”
He also stressed that “It is indeed a tool that positions Argentine agricultural machinery in the world, inspiring innovation and generating traction in the sector.”
Del Boca believes that for the winners, the award “represents an incomparable quality seal, visibility for local developments and reputation, demonstrates that argentina can develop cutting-edge technology comparable with that of the rest of the world.”
The call for entries is open until August 30 and is aimed at:
