Rebecca King-Crews, the wife of actor Terry Crews, has revealed she has been privately living with Parkinson’s disease for over a decade. During an interview on the Today
show on April 6, 2026, the 60-year-old singer and fashion designer shared her diagnosis to bring awareness to a promising new medical treatment that has improved her symptoms.
King-Crews stated that her first symptoms appeared around 2012, beginning with numbness in her left foot that eventually progressed into a limp. At the time, her doctor attributed the issue to over-exercising, but her personal trainer noticed that her left arm was not swinging as much as her right during certain exercises.
The situation escalated when King-Crews noticed her hand shaking while applying lip gloss. She recognized the tremor because her grandmother had experienced similar symptoms. Despite this, her doctors initially dismissed the symptoms as anxiety, and a neurologist was initially unsure of the cause.
After three years of confusing and dismissed symptoms, a Parkinson’s specialist provided a formal diagnosis in 2015. King-Crews noted that the tremors were the most frustrating symptom, as they made basic daily tasks such as brushing her teeth or applying makeup challenging.
Treatment and Recovery
King-Crews recently underwent an FDA-approved, non-invasive procedure known as MR-guided focused ultrasound. This procedure uses high-intensity sound waves to target and destroy a small area of brain tissue responsible for tremors without the need for surgical cuts.

The initial procedure addressed symptoms on the right side of her body. King-Crews reported significant improvements, stating that for the first time in approximately three years, she is able to write her name and dates with her right hand. She also mentioned being able to perform a port de bras
, a ballet move, by balancing on her right leg.

I don’t believe in telling my story just so you can feel sorry for me. I really believe that this procedure and others like it are the new frontier of medicine.
King-Crews explained that she is currently in a recovery period that lasts about three months, during which she expects to see further improvements. She is scheduled to undergo a second procedure in September 2026 to address numbness and tremors on the left side of her body.
Personal Context and Support
This health battle follows other serious challenges for King-Crews, who underwent a double mastectomy in 2020 after being diagnosed with breast cancer. Despite these diagnoses, she continued to work on a clothing line, an album, and a book during the period she was seeking a Parkinson’s diagnosis.
Terry Crews appeared alongside his wife during the April 6 interview, expressing his commitment to supporting her through the illness.

When they say sickness and health, this is the battle that we were designed to fight together. Where she’s weak, I’m strong. Where I’m weak, she’s strong. And we built each other up like that for almost 37 years and all the way to forever.
King-Crews emphasized that she does not believe in giving up due to a diagnosis, stating, Just keep going. And that’s what I’m going to keep doing.
