Texas A&M Volleyball Hosts LSU on Senior Day
The Texas A&M volleyball team will end its home season by playing against LSU on Sunday afternoon at Reed Arena. The match starts at 2 p.m.
This game is A&M’s annual senior day, recognizing players Molly Brown and Ellee Stinson. The Aggies, currently ranked fifth in the conference with an 8-6 record, will face eighth-ranked LSU, which has a 6-8 record.
A&M’s defense has excelled this season. The team ranks third in the league for opponent hitting percentage at .192, fourth in blocks per set with 2.40, and sixth in digs per set at 13.31. LSU is expected to counter with a solid offense, as they have a hitting percentage of .233, placing them in the conference’s upper half.
Historically, A&M leads the series against LSU with a record of 32-20. However, LSU won their last encounter in a close five-set match earlier this season. A&M holds an 11-8 record playing at Reed Arena and is 9-3 at home this year.
In their previous match, A&M recorded a strong defensive performance against Georgia. Ifenna Cos-Okpalla tied the school record for blocks in a four-set match with 13 blocks, matching Kaitlyn Blake’s record from 2016. The team’s total of 19 blocks marked a new season high.
Logan Lednicky also made history, earning her 1,116th career kill, positioning her 15th on the all-time kills list for A&M.
The Aggies have been dominant at home, outscoring opponents by 120 points across 12 matches.
