Republican Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and Democratic state Rep. James Talarico have secured a series of high-profile endorsements as the United States Senate race in Texas enters its final stretch, including unexpected backing from Henry.
Henry Backs Talarico After Meeting
Henry announced his support for James Talarico in a campaign video after meeting with the candidate in person for an extended period to discuss state and national issues. The businessman described Talarico’s approach as balanced, straightforward, and honest. Henry’s endorsement marks a notable shift given his financial support during the Republican primary, where he donated $646,107 to Lone Star Liberty PAC, a political action committee backing Ken Paxton over incumbent John Cornyn.

In the video, Henry explained that his previous backing of Paxton stemmed from his belief that Cornyn had been in office for too long. While troubled by Paxton’s refusal to debate Cornyn, Henry initially supported him anyway. Subsequent revelations regarding Paxton’s various scandals prompted Henry to meet with Talarico, leading to his endorsement.
It taught me the values Talarico has, the value he has for respect, fairness, safety, good economics for Texas and our country and a balanced approach to all the issues. I am so proud to support James Talarico for U.S. Senate.

Additional Legal and Political Endorsements
Henry is not the only prominent figure from legal and political circles to shift support to Talarico. Earlier in the summer, longtime Texas attorney Dan Cogdell used his podcast to endorse Talarico. Cogdell previously represented Paxton during his 2023 impeachment and securities fraud cases, stating that his former client had lost sight of his core mission.
