second Victim Dies in Dallas ICE Facility Shooting
A second person shot during the recent sniper attack at a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Dallas, Texas, has died, according to the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC). the victim has been identified as Miguel Ángel García-Hernández, 32.
LULAC announced on Tuesday that García-Hernández “succumbed to his injuries after being removed from life support following the [September 24] sniper attack.” His wife, Stephany Gauffeny, described him as “a good man, a loving father and the provider for our family.” They had recently purchased their first home together,and he was dedicated to providing for their four young children,with a fifth child on the way.
García-Hernández, originally from Mexico, worked as a house painter before his detention. The shooting initially resulted in one fatality and left two others critically injured. The first victim identified was Norlan Guzman-Fuentes, 37, of El Salvador, who died on the day of the shooting.
The third victim,whose identity has not been publicly released,remains hospitalized.
