EL PASO, Texas – A herd of desert bighorn sheep are getting a unique ride to their new home in the Franklin Mountains.the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) is relocating the sheep from Elephant Mountain Wildlife Management Area to bolster the population in the Franklin Mountains State Park.
Instead of a traditional on-foot trek, the sheep are being transported in a specialized trailer designed to mimic their natural habitat. The trailer, equipped with padded flooring and ventilation, provides a safe and agreeable journey for the animals.
