Bangkok – Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul officially registered his marriage to Thananon Niramit, his girlfriend of over two years, on , just ahead of Valentine’s Day. The couple’s decision to marry on this date was reportedly influenced by Thai astrology, with Friday considered a highly auspicious day.
The marriage ceremony took place at the Prime Minister’s private residence, with officials from the Dusit District Office present to finalize the registration. Witnesses included Anutin’s children, Naiyaphak Charnvirakul and Seranee Charnvirakul, as well as Unsit Sampuntharat, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior.
The couple’s relationship began when Anutin frequently visited Thananon’s coffee shop. They dated for over two years before publicly appearing together at the Government House in 2022, and have since consistently attended important events as a couple.
Thananon Niramit, often referred to as “Jaa,” is a businesswoman approximately 20 years younger than the 59-year-old Prime Minister. She is originally from Ranong province, in northern Thailand, and graduated from Thammasat University. Before her career in business, she served as a drum major for the annual Chula-Thammasat Traditional Football Match.
Thananon owns and operates JaJaa Coffee, a well-known cafe in Ranong. She has expanded her business ventures to Bangkok with the opening of Jaristaa, a cafe featuring a modern Sino-Portuguese design. Jaristaa emphasizes the use of locally sourced ingredients, including cashew nuts, in its menu, notably the “Kyu Kyu” items.
This marriage reportedly marks the third for Prime Minister Anutin. Details regarding his previous marriages have not been publicly disclosed.
The Prime Minister and his new wife were seen walking arm-in-arm to the Dusit District Office to complete the registration process, embracing the spirit of the upcoming Valentine’s Day. Thananon is active on social media, with accounts on Facebook and TikTok under the name Jaa Thananon, and on Instagram as jaa.thananon.
