Royal Thai Army Soldier Injured in landmine Incident in Sisaket Province
A soldier with the Royal Thai Army was seriously injured on December 27, 2025, after stepping on a PMN-2 anti-personnel mine during a mission in the Khao Sattasom area of Sisaket Province. The incident occurred at approximately 11:30 a.m. local time, according to a statement released by the Royal Thai Army.
The injured soldier, identified as Private Narin ngaophrai, sustained critical injuries, resulting in the amputation of his right leg. Immediate assistance was provided, and Private Ngaophrai was medically evacuated by helicopter to Surin Hospital for treatment.He is currently under close medical supervision.
Following the incident, the area has been secured and is undergoing a thorough safety inspection to prevent further incidents and ensure the safety of personnel operating in the region. The Royal Thai Army is prioritizing the safety of its troops and is taking measures to mitigate the risk of encountering further landmines.
