MEA Joins Forces to Welcome 2024 Paralympic Games Athletes Arriving in Thailand
(10 September 2024) The Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) has joined forces to welcome the 2024 Paralympic Games athletes who have returned to Thailand after participating in the sports competition in Paris, Republic of France. Mr. Sorawong Thienthong, Minister of Tourism and Sports, Mr. Rangsan Setthawong, Director of Social and Environmental Affairs, MEA, together with Mr. Maitri Kongruang, President of the Sports Association of Disabled People of Thailand under royal patronage and Thai sports fans welcomed them at Suvarnabhumi Airport.
The Thai national team achieved outstanding results, winning a total of 30 medals, consisting of 6 gold medals, 11 silver medals, and 13 bronze medals, finishing in 21st place in the table, the best performance in history. As an agency under the Ministry of Interior, MEA has promoted and supported various related activities of the Disabled Sports Association of Thailand under the Royal Patronage since 2013, contributing to the development of the sports industry and the potential of athletes with disabilities in Thailand to the international level.
