The thailand Travel Mart plus (TTM+) 2025, held in Chiang Mai from June 4-6, has been declared a carbon neutral event. This achievement underscores Thailand’s commitment to lasting tourism and environmental ⁢stewardship. The event highlights the important role sustainable practices‌ play in the tourism industry.

Thapanee ‌Kiatphaibool, governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), emphasized⁤ the importance ‍of sustainability in all of TAT’s initiatives.⁢ She stated that TTM+ exemplifies the​ mission to promote responsible tourism, benefiting both local communities‌ and the environment. ‍The ⁢TAT‌ collaborated with‌ the Provincial Electricity Authority to manage and offset emissions.

The event successfully ⁢reduced emissions by 669.84 kgCO₂eq. ‌More ⁢than​ 1,080 kilograms of waste were⁣ diverted from landfills through sorting ‍and recycling efforts.In collaboration with Central tham and Recycle Day, organic waste was converted into biogas. Surplus meals were donated to ‌support nearby communities, extending the event’s​ positive impact. The TTM+ 2025 attracted⁤ 406 buyers from 51 countries, reinforcing Thailand’s position as a key tourism hub.
