Thailand National Under-20 Team Dominates Philippines in Asian Football Championship Qualifiers
On September 25, 2024, at 7:30 pm, the Buriram City Stadium hosted the Asian Football Championship Under 20 age group qualifying round, Group H, first match, where the Thailand national under-20 team took on the Philippines.
Coach Emerson Pereira’s starting lineup featured Kaelan Thanadon Ryan as the target, supported by Thanakrit Chotmuangpak, Jirapong Phuengwirawong, and Dusadee Buranajutanon.
The Thai national team made a strong start, scoring their first goal in the 14th minute, taking a 1-0 lead. Jirapong Phuengwirawong advanced to the right before passing to Thanakrit Chotmuangpak, who received the ball and scored.
The team continued to press, and in the 16th minute, they scored their second goal, taking a 2-0 lead. Pikanet Laohawiwat added to the right before striking, setting up Kellan Ryan to run into the clearance.
In the 22nd minute, Thailand was awarded a penalty after Pongsakorn Sangkhasopha intercepted the ball and was fouled by Brian Villanueva in the penalty area. However, Piyawat Petra’s penalty kick was saved by the Philippine goalkeeper.
The Thai national team continued to dominate, and in the 24th minute, Piyawat added Petra to the left before crossing to the center for Kelan Ryan to score, giving Thailand a 3-0 lead.
In the 45th minute, Kelan Ryan completed his hat-trick, running in front of the goal and scoring at gunpoint. Thailand ended the first half with a 4-0 lead.
