Last season, Sydney (Ayo Edebiri) struggled to get Carmy (Jeremy Allen

Is Carmy leaving the Bear?
Eventually. In Episode 9, Sydney discovered her partnership agreement
divided ownership between Cicero (Oliver Platt) and the Bear, including
Sydney, Sugar (Abby Elliott), but not Carmy.
Sydney confronted Carmy, who confirmed his plans to leave the Bear and the
restaurant industry. He intends to retire after the restaurant is stable
financially.
Why is Carmy leaving the Bear?
As with everything in “the Bear,” it relates to Mikey (Jon Bernthal),
Carmy’s brother who died by suicide. Carmy tells Sydney he’s leaving
because he feels he has nothing left to draw on.
He admits he became a chef and opened the Bear to avoid dealing with other
parts of his life, putting “hurdles in the way.” Sydney and Richie bring
up Mikey’s death, a major source of trauma for Carmy, who is also
confronting a strained relationship with his mother (Jamie Lee Curtis).
Carmy is leaving the Bear “to make me not like this,” he tells Sydney. He
