is scheduled to return on November 15, 2026, for its sixth season, which will focus on the final hours and crucifixion of Jesus.
Prime Video and 5&2 Studios confirmed that the first three episodes of the season will debut on November 15, 2026. New episodes will then be released weekly through December 6, 2026.
In addition to the streaming release, the Season 6 finale will be released as a standalone theatrical event timed for Holy Week 2027.
Narrative Focus on Good Friday
The upcoming season will center on the 24 hours comprising Good Friday, documenting the arrest, trial, and crucifixion of Jesus. The story picks up immediately following the events of the Season 5 finale, which depicted the Last Supper and the subsequent arrest in the Garden of Gethsemane.
Everyone knows the basics of this part of the story, but not everyone knows the ‘why’ of the crucifixion and the extraordinary events of these 24 hours. We realized this not only deserved a season of television but a standalone full-length theatrical event as well. We wrote and filmed all of it with this in mind.
