The delegations paid tribute to the veterans on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of the establishment of the First Corps of the AR BiH – TVSA.BA
As part of the commemoration of the 32nd anniversary of the formation of the First Corps of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, delegations from the Ministry of Veterans Affairs Sarajevo Canton, the City of Sarajevo, veterans associations, and other defense officers and veterans paid tribute to the martyrs and fallen soldiers of the ABiH by placing flowers.
During the day the delegations, led by the Minister of Veterans Affairs of Sarajevo Canton Omer Osmanović and Deputy Mayor of Sarajevo Samir Avdić, visited the graves of Lav, Sv. Joseph, St. Marko, the Stadium, the Kovači cemetery, the Alipaša mosque harem, the Memorial to the murdered children of the besieged Sarajevo, the Eternal Fire Memorial.
As part of the program, flowers were also laid on the grave of Mustafa Hajrulahović Taljan, the first commander of the First Corps of the ARBiH, in the Ali Pasha Mosque.
The First Army Corps of the RBiH was formed with its headquarters in Sarajevo on this day in 1992 as part of the initial reorganization and consolidation of a number of new patriotic units, territorial defense units and reserve composition of the minimum unit price of the RBiH, at the suggestion of the Chief Staff of the Supreme Command of the Armed Forces of the RBiH Sefer Halilović at the time, and by the decision of the Supreme Command (Presidency of the RBiH) and its president Alija Izetbegović. The first corps made a huge contribution to the defense of Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Three brigades of the Corps received the honorary titles “glorious” and four “knighted”. Among the members of the First Corps of the RBiH Army, 472 are holders of the highest war award “Golden Lily”, 29 members were awarded the highest state awards by the BiH Presidency and 19 members were awarded the “Silver Shield” war award. For their contribution to the defense of the city of Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina, the First Corps of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina was awarded the combined 6 April City of Sarajevo award in 2010.
