Boston, March 29, 2025 — Two Czech ice dance teams have advanced to the free dance portion of the World Figure Skating Championships in Boston.
Former Junior World Champions, the Mrázek siblings, delivered a near-flawless rhythmic dance to music from The Beatles, scoring 74.49 points,just shy of their personal best.
Following their performance, one of the Mrázek siblings commented, Our goal was to perform a good program, like in training, and we achieved that. We finished the routine feeling satisfied, although there’s always room for enhancement.
The other sibling added with a shrug, And we can’t influence the score any further.
An equipment issue arose shortly before their skate. the eighteen-year-old skater explained, I broke a silicone strip that holds the costume together, so we removed it and didn’t worry about it. It couldn’t fall off anymore, so I forgot about it. I only felt it was unusual during the first movement, but then it was fine.
The Taschler siblings also advanced, despite a visible mistake in one of their twizzles, earning a score of 73.28 for their performance to music by Donna Summer.
One of the Taschler siblings said, We enjoyed the dance; the arena was great, and the energy was fantastic.Perhaps we skated a little too cautiously, and some errors, mainly in the twizzles, affected the score.

The combined placement of the Czech teams is significant, possibly securing two spots for the milan Olympics and the subsequent world Championship in Prague next year, provided they achieve a combined placement of 28 or lower.
The free dance competition will take place Saturday evening, with the Taschler siblings skating in the second group and the Mrázek siblings in the third.
Madison Chock and evan Bates of the United states lead the competition with 90.18 points, aiming for their third consecutive gold medal. Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier of Canada are in second place with 86.44 points.
