[서울=뉴시스]Reporter Song Yeon-ju = Pharmaceutical and bio companies are introducing new products with ‘naming’ that catches the ear of consumers. This mainly applies to over-the-counter (OTC) drugs that consumers can purchase directly from pharmacies without a doctor’s prescription, and urological drugs that are prescription drugs but require intuitive names.
According to the pharmaceutical industry on the 30th, Dong-A Pharmaceutical launched the pouch-type liquid digestive aid ‘Benachio Easy Liquid.’
Benachio is a digestive brand that was created with the meaning of ‘a sore stomach gets better’. The name ‘Benachio’, which makes the sound of ‘a sore stomach gets better’, was made so that consumers can easily remember it. It is a non-carbonated digestive containing herbal ingredients.
Since the first launch of ‘Benachio Liquid’ in 2009, the lineup has expanded to four products, including ‘Benachio Kids Liquid’, ‘Benachio F Liquid’, and now ‘Benachio Easy Liquid’.
The newly released Benachio Easy Liquid contains medicinal ingredients such as changchul, yukgye, geongang, tangerine peel, fennel, and licorice, which help alleviate symptoms such as indigestion and flatulence caused by meat and flour-based foods that modern people enjoy eating. It is characterized by the fact that it can take care of symptoms that occur not only in the stomach but also in the intestines, such as loose stools and intestinal symptoms, by adding omae and asenyak.
Kwangdong Pharmaceutical also recently released ‘Kwangdong Mind Jeong-Aek’, which is effective for nervousness and excessive thoughtfulness. It is an over-the-counter drug approved with the prescription of ‘Cheongsim Bo-Hyeol-Tang’, which is included in Donguibogam. It is effective for symptoms such as dizziness, dark eyes, palpitations, and feeling hot in the chest due to nervousness and excessive thoughtfulness that modern people often experience.
The product name embodies the importance of mind management.
YuYu Pharmaceutical also recently introduced a general medicine for allergy treatment called ‘Alesta’. Alesta is an antihistamine that treats allergic rhinitis symptoms such as runny nose, sneezing, and itchy eyes, nose, and throat.
Dongkoo Biopharmaceutical launched ‘Gusejeong’, a treatment for premature ejaculation, on the 30th of last month. It is a prescription drug approved for use in the treatment of premature ejaculation that is not adequately controlled by clomipramine monotherapy. Gusejeong carries the meaning that it can help patients overcome the discomfort and worries they experience.
A pharmaceutical industry insider said, “Naming is an important factor in promoting a product,” and “Consumers’ perception of a product changes depending on the name. A distinctive and intuitive name can immediately attract consumers’ attention.”
