The Great British Bake Off 2024 Winner Revealed: Celebrate the Ultimate Baking Champion!

Paediatric nurse Georgie has made history by becoming the first contestant from Wales to win The Great British Bake Off. The 34-year-old, from Carmarthenshire, triumphed over fellow finalists Christiaan and Dylan in the show’s final episode.

Upon winning, Georgie expressed her disbelief, saying, “This is mad! I have won it, I can’t believe it. This is just incredible.” Judge Prue Leith praised Georgie’s skills, stating, “Georgie did what she does best – classic British baking beautifully done – and won it, and quite right, too.” Paul Hollywood referred to her as the “Welsh wonder” who excelled in the competition.

Georgie celebrated her victory by acknowledging her unique milestone, saying, “I am the first Welsh winner on The Great British Bake Off! Oh my gosh being the first Welsh baker in the final was a massive achievement.” She shared her emotional experience, recalling how her family supported her, and noting that her daughter hugged her in joy when she won.

Throughout the show, Georgie learned to be herself and trust her abilities. The final featured challenges such as baking delicate scones and creating a tiered celebration cake. Georgie’s standout creation was an elderflower and lemon sponge with strawberry and champagne confit.

Georgie lives in a Welsh farmhouse with her husband, three children, and various pets, planning to display her trophy proudly in the kitchen. She will appear on the spin-off show The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice on November 28 at 8 PM on Channel 4.
