Manchester-based five-piece The Guest List have announced the release of their debut studio album, Something Real, scheduled for arrival on August 28, 2026. The announcement coincided with the May 1, 2026, release of a new single titled Consider Care.

The upcoming album is described as an effort to capture something meaningful within a tumultuous global environment. According to the band, the record balances feelings of confusion and doubt with a search for moments of hope.

The Guest List recorded the project in Norway with collaborator Matias Tellez. The production of the album also involved James Skelly of The Coral.

Across 12 songs, the band explores a series of weighty themes, including domestic violence, climate change, and mental health, while attempting to maintain a balance with resilience, and vulnerability.

The album is basically us saying, ‘we’re young, we’re confused just like you – how did we get here?’ It’s about trying to find something meaningful in a world that often feels overwhelming.

Cai Alty, frontman of The Guest List

The new single, You Should Care, features an atmospheric guitar riff and a gradual instrumental build. The lyrics, performed by frontman Cai Alty, address themes of numbness and emotional distance.

The debut album will also include the track Something Real, which was released in February 2026. That specific single focused on the influence of algorithms, comment bots, whistleblowers, and trolls on public understanding.

Career Momentum and Tour Schedule

The album announcement follows a period of growth for the Manchester group over the previous 18 months. This trajectory included the release of their debut EP, When The Lights Are Out, in 2025, as well as a UK headline tour at the start of 2026.

The band has also gained experience touring alongside established acts, including Inhaler and Blossoms. After completing a series of UK dates in April 2026, the group has now confirmed their largest tour to date, beginning in November 2026.

These headline dates follow scheduled appearances at several major festivals, including Boardmasters, Reading & Leeds, and the Isle Of Wight festival. The tour will also integrate European headline shows starting in October 2026.
