This sentiment was echoed recently during the XIX edition of the Nutrition Update Days, organized by a prominent U.S. university. Over 1,000 healthcare professionals participated, underscoring the growing importance of nutritional science in modern medicine.

Recent studies indicate that roughly 600,000 people die of heart disease in the U.S. alone every year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This underscores the urgency of adopting proactive measures, including dietary changes, to mitigate the risk of chronic illnesses.

A significant focus of the discussion was on the effectiveness of specific diets in managing cardiovascular health. For instance, diets low in carbohydrates have demonstrated the ability to reduce blood pressure and triglyceride levels, making them a powerful tool in promoting cardiovascular health.

Moreover, the researcher stressed the importance of personalized nutrition, pointing out specific foods with protective properties like salmon, pomegranates, legumes, walnuts and almonds, chia and flax seeds, green leafy vegetables and pomegranate in preventing numerous health.
