The Oppo Find X9 Ultra has launched globally as a camera-centric flagship smartphone, featuring a dual 200MP main sensor setup and a 50MP 10x optical telephoto lens co-developed with Hasselblad.
Unveiled on March 22, 2026, in Shenzhen, the device marks Oppo’s first global launch of an Ultra model outside China at release, signaling the company’s confidence in its imaging capabilities. Pete Lau, SVP and Chief Product Officer at Oppo, stated that the Find X9 Ultra represents the biggest breakthrough in the company’s imaging history, combining cutting-edge optics, computational photography, and creative tools developed with Hasselblad to redefine mobile photography.
The smartphone’s rear camera system consists of five custom-engineered lenses working in tandem to deliver consistent performance across focal ranges. At its core is the world’s first 50MP 10x optical telephoto sensor, enabled by a Quintuple Prism Reflection Periscope Structure that folds the light path five times to fit a long zoom lens while reducing module length by 30%. This is paired with a Pristine Optical Path Architecture designed to eliminate nearly all light loss and distortion.
The primary camera uses a Sony LYTIA 901 sensor measuring 1/1.12 inches, one of the largest ever installed in a smartphone, allowing for significantly greater light capture compared to conventional sensors. This is complemented by a second 200MP sensor, forming a dual-main-camera array intended to provide flexibility in resolution and low-light performance without compromising image quality.
To support the power demands of its advanced imaging system, the Find X9 Ultra is equipped with a 7,050mAh battery, among the largest capacities seen in a flagship device. This ensures sustained operation during intensive tasks such as 8K video recording, which the device supports through its Hasselblad-tuned imaging pipeline and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor.
The phone features a 6.82-inch high-refresh display and is positioned as a direct competitor to other premium Android flagships, emphasizing photographic capability over general-purpose performance. Oppo’s decision to launch the Find X9 Ultra globally from the outset reflects a strategic shift to challenge established leaders in the smartphone camera space, following similar advancements by Samsung and Vivo in prior years.
