Advisor Turki bin Abdul Mohsen Al Al Sheikh, chairman of the board of directors of General Entertainment Authority (GEA), has been ranked as the most influential person in mixed martial arts and professional wrestling by ESPN.

This prestigious ranking was compiled with the input of over 30 prominent figures in the industry, including athletes, promoters, executives, managers, and media professionals. The criteria for selection included decision-making power, access to financing, and the ability to shape the market and transform the sports landscape through participation.

Since his emergence on the global sports scene in 2023, Al Sheikh has made a significant impact on the world of boxing, mixed martial arts, and professional wrestling. His influence has been particularly notable in the boxing world, where he has successfully revived interest in the heavyweight division through his efforts in the Riyadh season. This division has received substantial financial backing and publicity, enabling the organization of high-profile events.

Al Sheikh’s influence extends to his major sponsorship of the upcoming UFC event at The Sphere in Las Vegas, as well as hosting the first UFC event in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia last summer. Plans are underway to host another event next year.
