Jon Bernthal will not only reprise his role as the Punisher but also co-write the script with Reinaldo Marcus Green, known for “We Own This City.” The special follows in the footsteps of othre standalone projects like “Werewolf by Night” and “The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special.”

Production on “The Punisher” special is slated to begin in new York City from mid-July to the first week of August, following the wrap of “Daredevil: Born again” Season 2. Bernthal is also scheduled to film scenes for “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” in the United Kingdom,starting in Glasgow in August before moving to Pinewood Studios.
