The End of the Road for Irish Country Stars
The Three Amigos have called it quits. The Irish country music group announced the cancellation of their upcoming January 2027 tour following growing tensions within the band, according to coverage from RSVP Country and Galway Beo.
The trio—consisting of Robert Mizzell, Patrick Feeney, and Jimmy Buckley—sat down for an interview just weeks before the split was finalized. A decade after reuniting, the group had grown into a major success story in the Irish country music scene, drawing massive crowds to annual tours that sold out months in advance. Their concept drew inspiration from the American supergroup The Highwaymen, bringing together established solo artists who otherwise spent the majority of the year touring independently.
Rooted in American Inspiration
Speaking to RSVP Country, Jimmy Buckley reflected on how the group was formed and how the annual collaboration fit into their broader careers.
It’s fantastic. We’ve become very established over the last few years. We spend one month out of every twelve on tour, while our solo projects fill the remaining eleven months, making it wonderful to catch up with the two lads annually.

Buckley also noted the unique model behind the band.
Each of them was already a massive celebrity stateside before joining forces to record and launch joint concert dates. That approach had not yet been attempted in Ireland, allowing us to adopt the model and nurture and expand it through the years.

Despite the strong chemistry that built a show larger than any individual member originally imagined, underlying pressures began to mount. Jimmy Buckley has long-standing personal and professional ties to Galway, where he lived for many years and where his daughter, Claudia Buckley, was born before establishing her own successful country music career.
Mounting Pressures and Final Interviews
Shortly after the group’s final joint interviews were conducted, organizers announced the cancellation of the January 2027 tour. Robert Mizzell and Patrick Feeney subsequently confirmed they would pursue new directions in their careers.
Addressing the fallout within the band, Patrick Feeney acknowledged the strain in comments reported by Galway Beo.
For the past couple of years, there has been growing tension within The Three Amigos.

Gratitude and Solo Futures Ahead
Following the announcement of the split, Feeney expressed gratitude for the backing they received from followers.
The support Robert and I have received over the past week has been truly unbelievable. Every message, phone call and word of encouragement has meant more to us than you could know. Because of that support, we have decided to move forward.
