November 27, 2024 Catherine Williams - Chief Editor News

On Tuesday, the UAE expressed gratitude to Turkey for its help in arresting the suspects involved in the murder of Israeli Rabbi GV Kogan. The message came from the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and was shared on the X Platform. Details about the cooperation between the two countries were not provided, but the arrests occurred shortly after Kogan’s case drew significant public attention.

According to Reuters, Turkish intelligence and police carried out a secret operation in Istanbul, leading to the arrests. On Monday, a large funeral for Rabbi Kogan took place in Israel, drawing hundreds of attendees. The UAE announced the detention of three suspects, all Uzbek nationals.

Rabbi Kogan, 28, held dual Israeli and Moldovan citizenship and worked closely with the chief rabbi of the UAE, Rabbi Levi Deutschman, to develop Jewish life in the emirate. Kogan’s body was found in Al Ain, about 150 kilometers from Abu Dhabi. His funeral was attended by his family and community members, who mourned the loss.
