There is a basketball court under the bridge next to the canal, which is open for free during the trial period.

In recent days, Changyun Basketball Park, a brand new basketball park on the banks of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal in Hangzhou, has welcomed its first batch of basketball enthusiasts.

Changyun Basketball Park is located under Changyun Bridge (east bank of the Grand Canal) in Kangqiao Street, Gongshu District, close to the Xiecun section and the Museum section of the Grand Canal waterfront public space, west to the Grand Canal Waterfront Trail, and east to Lishui Road. The park covers an area of about 2,600 square meters and has 5 basketball courts, including 1 standard basketball court and 4 non-standard basketball courts.

The project started in March this year, was basically completed last month, and is currently in the trial operation period.

During the trial operation, Changyun Basketball Park will be open from 6:00 to 22:00 from Monday to Sunday. The court will be open free of charge, and reservations will be made on site. The number of people entering the court will be controlled according to the operation of the venue. After the trial operation, the official operation plan will be announced.

As a relatively rare embedded sports park under a bridge in the northern part of the city, Changyun Basketball Park has cleverly transformed the space under the bridge, allowing the city’s “golden corner and silver edge” space under the bridge to be effectively developed and utilized, providing a fitness venue for surrounding residents and improving the space environment under the bridge.

In the future, this basketball court will undergo more upgrades, with plans to add fitness equipment and host community sports meets, basketball games and other mass sports activities.
