Italian flag carrier ITA Airways is expanding its European network, adding a new route to Zurich, Switzerland, starting in March 2024.
The airline announced the new service, which will operate daily, connecting Rome’s Fiumicino Airport (FCO) with Zurich Airport (ZRH). this move marks ITA Airways’ continued commitment to strengthening its presence in key European markets.

Bulgaria Air is making waves in the European aviation scene, not just for its growing Airbus A220 fleet but also for its unique approach to passenger comfort.While many airlines opt for a blocked middle seat in economy class, Bulgaria Air stands out by offering a dedicated business class section with a 2-2 seating configuration on its A220s.
The airline currently ranks fifth in Europe for scheduled A220 flights, with 514 sectors planned for December 2024. This translates to 66,358 available seats and 49,408,432 available seat miles, placing Bulgaria Air in the top five across Europe for both metrics.
But it’s the seating arrangement that truly sets Bulgaria Air apart.

The A220-100, of which Bulgaria Air operates one, features eight business class seats and 110 economy seats. the larger A220-300, with three in the fleet, boasts 135 economy seats behind the eight business class seats.
Domestically, Bulgaria Air’s busiest A220 route is the Sofia (SOF) to Varna (VRN) corridor, with an average of more than one return flight per day, totaling 78 round trips scheduled for December 2024.
Internationally, Sofia serves as the hub for Bulgaria Air’s A220 operations, with popular routes including Amsterdam Schiphol (30 rotations), Paris CDG (29), Prague (18), and Madrid Barajas (18).Bulgaria Air’s commitment to passenger comfort and its distinctive business class offering make it a compelling choice for travelers seeking a more refined flying experience.
