County Roscommon mourns the loss of a beloved figure, Tom, who passed away peacefully on July 31st, 2025, following a sudden illness. Surrounded by his devoted family and in the exceptional care of the staff at Portiuncula University Hospital, Ballinasloe, County galway, Tom’s departure leaves a profound void in the hearts of many.
tom was the treasured husband of Bridget (Bridie) nee finnerty, a partnership built on enduring love and mutual respect. He was a much-loved father to Michael (New York), ann-Marie (Mullingar), and Ciaran (Grange), and a cherished father-in-law to Noel Heduan and Benjamin Gillespie. his grandchildren, Edith and Méabh, brought immense joy into his life, and he was an adored grandfather. Tom was also a devoted brother to charles (& Rita) (Templeogue) and Michael (Drumlahard). He is now reunited with his parents, Charles and Annie-Jane (nee Molloy), and his infant brother, john Joseph, who preceded him in death.
The love and respect Tom garnered extended far beyond his immediate family. He will be forever loved and greatly missed by his heartbroken wife, children, sons-in-law, grandchildren, brothers, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, nephews, niece, nephews-in-law, nieces-in-law, relatives, neighbours, and a wide circle of friends. His presence was a source of comfort, wisdom, and warmth to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Funeral Arrangements and Tributes

Reposing:
cuan Mhuire Oratory, adjacent to the Four Mile House Community Center (F42 T659), on Saturday, August 2nd, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m.
Removal:
From his home in Grange (F42 DK23) on Monday, August 4th, at 11:15 a.m.
Funeral Mass:
St. Brigid’s church, Four Mile House (F42 AY92), on Monday, August 4th, at 12:00 noon.
Burial:
St Coman’s Cemetery,Roscommon Town,alongside his beloved uncle & aunt,Joe & Josephine Moran.
Please note: The house will be strictly private, except for family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations or expressions of sympathy be made in other ways.

A Heartfelt thank You
Tom’s family wishes to express their most sincere gratitude to the paramedics of the National Ambulance Service and the dedicated staff of portiuncula University Hospital. Special thanks are extended to the medical teams of the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, and Dunlo Ward, and also the palliative and pastoral care teams. Their kindness, compassion, and unwavering care for Tom during his final days will never be forgotten and are deeply appreciated.
May Tom Rest In Peace.
