Thomas Ramdhan, the long-time bassist for the legendary Indonesian band GIGI, has announced his departure from the group. Reports from CNN Indonesia and Suara.com indicate that the musician has signaled his final performance with the band, marking the end of a tenure that spanned several decades.

The announcement has been accompanied by claims of internal conflict. This departure follows a period of increasing artistic exploration outside of GIGI. On June 22, 2025, Ramdhan released a solo single titled Hidup Tak Terduga (Unpredictable Life). The project serves as an eclectic summary of his musical journey as an artist within the Indonesian entertainment industry.

The solo project also featured a collaboration with Soleh Solihun, a journalist and comedian. Solihun contributed personal narratives and characteristic commentary regarding his own journey in the entertainment world, utilizing the song’s fusion music as a space to share anxieties and humor.

Beyond his solo work, Ramdhan has focused on a family-oriented musical project called Solitaire Addict. This band, which focuses on the alternative rock genre, was formed with his eldest son, Bounty Ramdhan.

In Solitaire Addict, Thomas Ramdhan serves as the bassist and producer, while Bounty Ramdhan takes the role of drummer. Bounty began his involvement with the band at the age of 16, citing a personal attraction to the drums rather than following his father’s path as a bassist.

Bounty has noted that while playing in a band with his father initially felt stiff, he maintained a professional approach to the collaboration, believing that music can be created with anyone regardless of age differences.
