Three Days Grace Reunion Thrills Quebec Fans

Three Days Grace’s current tour marks the return of singer Adam Gontier to the Ontario band after an 11-year absence. The reunion lived up to expectations at a frenzied Centre Vidéotron on Tuesday night.
Gontier followed the instructions to the letter on how to make a successful return.
When the band took the stage, Gontier grabbed the microphone and furiously belted out the first lines of Animal I Have Become, one of 3DG’s biggest hits.
Matt Waltz, who took over vocals in 2014, quickly joined him, dispelling any doubts: the vocal collaboration between the two men works wonderfully.

Moments later, after the quintet performed Break and Home, Adam Gontier showed his class by expressing his gratitude to the band members who carried the torch during his absence.
“If it wasn’t for this man Matt Waltz,” he admitted, pointing to his vocal partner, “we wouldn’t be here tonight.”
Beloved in Quebec
This visit from 3DG, a band known for collecting number 1 hits on rock radio for twenty years, also reaffirmed the Ontarians’ status as favorites in Quebec. Their last two concerts at the Festival d’été caused the closure of the Parc de la Francophonie.
On Tuesday, there were likely ten thousand people at the Centre Vidéotron, chanting “Three Days Grace, three Days grace…” between each song.
The fans were well served. While Gontier and Waltz took turns on the microphone, often during the same songs, the band played most of their hits, drawing generously from the albums Three days Grace and One-X.
Unsurprisingly, I Hate Everything About You and its relentless bittersweet chorus, sung by Adam Gontier with the support of the crowd, sparked the strongest reaction.
