Three people were killed and four others detained in a violent altercation during a filming session in Bogotá’s Santa Fe neighborhood, according to authorities and multiple local media reports.

The incident occurred on April 18, 2026, in the central locality of Santa Fe, where a confrontation erupted amid a recording, resulting in fatal stab wounds to three individuals. The National Police confirmed the deaths and stated that four suspects were apprehended at the scene. None of the victims carried identification at the time of the attack, complicating initial efforts to establish their identities.

According to El Tiempo, the violence unfolded during what appeared to be a film or video shoot, though the nature of the production remains unconfirmed. Witnesses reported that tensions escalated quickly, leading to a physical confrontation involving bladed weapons. Authorities have not disclosed whether the detainees were directly involved in the filming or were bystanders drawn into the conflict.

Caracol Radio reported that investigators are treating the case as a possible act of intolerance, noting similarities with other recent violent incidents in the city. However, officials have not released a definitive motive, and the investigation remains open. The Bogotá Police Command, under the leadership of Commander Giovanni Cristancho, has urged the public to provide any information that could assist in identifying the victims and clarifying the sequence of events.

La FM reported a separate but related incident on the Circunvalar Avenue where three people also died in a confrontation linked to social intolerance, suggesting a pattern of escalating violence in public spaces across the city. While authorities have not formally connected the two events, both occurred within a 24-hour window and involved fatal injuries from edged weapons.

The Attorney General’s Office has been notified and is coordinating with the National Police to conduct forensic analysis and review any available audiovisual material from the filming. As of April 19, no formal charges have been filed against the four detained individuals, who remain in custody pending further investigation.

Community leaders in Santa Fe have expressed concern over the recurrence of violence in the area, calling for increased patrols and conflict mediation programs. The locality, known for its cultural diversity and historic significance, has experienced periodic security challenges in recent years, particularly in its central zones.
