Thüringen-Kalender bündelt regionale Veranstaltungen und Termine

Events serve as a primary travel motivation for visitors to the region, yet finding them often required checking multiple disconnected schedules.

Users can filter results by timeframe, event type, and location, or discover dates directly on a map of Thüringen. The new platform creates a central point of contact for events ranging from concerts, festivals, theater, celebrations, guided tours, trade fairs, sports events, and lectures, with around 5,000 events already included through the end of the year.

Data Sources and Integration

To eliminate scattered searches across various calendars, websites, and platforms, the system merges event dates from multiple sources. These include regional and municipal calendars such as the Kulturcarré for Eisenach and the Wartburgkreis, the Vogtland leisure calendar, tourist systems like destination.one, and external ticket providers like eventim.

All data flows into the Thuringian Content Architecture Tourism (ThüCAT), which regions can also utilize as a primary source for entering events. From this shared pool, the data is played out into the Thüringen-Kalender, which can be accessed at events.thueringen-entdecken.de.

Benefits for Organizers and Visitors

The shared event pool also benefits regions, municipalities, businesses, and cultural institutions, which can use a calendar widget to publish relevant events from the data pool directly on their own websites without manual collection. Once recorded at their respective source, dates are updated automatically across connected digital applications via interfaces.

This setup creates additional reach for organizers and institutions, while providing residents and guests with a simpler way to find events throughout the Free State as the calendar continues to grow steadily with newly added dates.
