Kim Na-jeong‘s Drug Use Allegations

Kim Na-jeong, a former member of ‘Miss Maxim’ and a freelancer, faced serious allegations regarding drug use. On the 12th, she posted and quickly deleted a story on Instagram. Kim (32) explained on the 18th that she was forced to take drugs while in the Philippines, where she planned to promote a beauty product and underwear brand.

In her statement, Kim claimed that during a meeting with a businessman named Mr. A, she was restrained and blindfolded. She described being forced to inhale smoke through a tube-like device. There is a video of this incident taken on her phone, allegedly recorded by Mr. A.

Her lawyer, Kim Yeon-gi from Chungjeong Law Firm, stated that Mr. A feared consequences and asked to use Kim’s phone to film the incident. The lawyer mentioned that the video could support Kim’s claims of coercion.

Additionally, Kim’s attorney alleged that Mr. A threatened her with a gun, claiming he could kill easily, leaving her without options. He asserted that the drugs were administered to her only once and under duress.

Previously, Kim expressed fear for her safety while at the Conrad Hotel in Manila, indicating she could not leave. Her attorney reported that Kim made a video call to the police for help, during which Mr. A reportedly monitored her. The lawyer emphasized Kim did not voluntarily take drugs but sought emergency assistance instead.

Kim Na-jeong stated, “I’m sorry to worry you,” and assured her commitment to cooperate with the investigation. Following her return to South Korea on the 12th, she tested positive for philopone during a police check at Incheon International Airport.

The Drug Crime Investigation Unit of the Gyeonggi Northern Police Agency is currently conducting an investigation, and Kim has been charged without detention under the Drug Management Act. Kim Na-jeong gained attention when she won the ‘Miss Maxim’ pageant in 2019 and has since appeared on various media platforms.
