Tigres de Aragua Announces 2024-2025 Season Imports
Tigres de Aragua has officially announced its imports for the 2024-2025 season of the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League. The team has brought in a group of experienced pitchers to strengthen its roster.
The imports include starters Yunesky Maya, Lázaro Blanco, Yoanner Negrín, Jake Thompson, and relievers Chavez Fernander, Carlos Viera, and Alex Carrillo. These players will join the team in the first installment, with starter Tiago Da Silva and reliever Ben Holmes set to join later in November as part of the second installment.
According to Víctor Zambrano, president of Tigres de Aragua, the team’s imports were carefully selected to address weaknesses from the previous two seasons. “We are analyzing what we need as a team, and after the moves we have made in recent years and the project we have, we are focusing on strengthening our pitching staff with experienced arms who can contribute their talent and help us compete and win games,” said Zambrano.
Minicamp 2024 Interrupted by Bad Weather
The first day of Minicamp 2024 was disrupted by heavy rain at the Jorge Luis García Carneiro stadium in Macuto, La Guaira state. Despite the weather, 24 players gathered at the sports venue to refine details and begin preparing for the 2024-2025 season. The group included 18 pitchers and 6 position players.
Claudio Custodio Joins Bravos de Margarita
Dominican right-hander Claudio Custodio is returning to Venezuela to play for Bravos de Margarita in the 2024-2025 season. Custodio joins the team’s imported contingent, which includes Juan Santana, Dylan Unsworth, José Mesa Jr, and Mark Simon.
