Brooks Brothers’ Archive Collection: A Fusion of American Ivy and British Elements

The third wave of men’s and women’s wear from Brooks Brothers’ Archive Collection will be available at Brooks Brothers stores and elsewhere from Wednesday, September 25, 2024.

Mixing the American Ivy look with British elements

The “Archive Collection,” which will be available in the Fall/Winter 2023 and Spring/Summer 2024 seasons, is a collection of items that combine classic pieces from Brooks Brothers’ archives with modern techniques and essences. This time, as a culmination of the collection, the brand will be offering carefully selected men’s and women’s wear with the theme of “Anglo American” culture. The collection will feature items that mix British elements such as tweed-like materials and plaid patterns with the Ivy League look of the East Coast of the United States.

Harris Tweed Norfolk Jacket

The first item to note in the men’s section is the Norfolk jacket, a reproduction of one worn by the 1920s American author Scott Fitzgerald. Made from thick Harris Tweed and finished with leather-covered buttons, it has a classic look.

Authentic trench coats and duffle coats

Authentic outerwear is also available. The double-breasted coat is a reproduction of an American trench coat from a 1980s catalog, with a higher waist than the current model. In addition, it faithfully reproduces the details of the time, such as a removable gold liner, and is dotted with classic elements such as a removable wool collar, through pockets, and umbrella yoke.

The high-quality triple-pile herringbone wool duffle coat, reproduced by the British company Malarius to recreate the feel of the 1990s, is an outerwear piece that creates an elegant look.

Cable knit cardigans and tartan pleated skirts

For women, the lineup includes cable knit cardigans made from British wool, pleated skirts and pants made from tartan checked wool serge. The chic designs will come in handy for autumn and winter outfits.

More than 250 Brooks Brothers archive items on display in Omotesando

To commemorate the release of the Archive Collection, Brooks Brothers has collaborated with SAFARI, a popular second-hand clothing store in Koenji. A limited-time shop will open at Brooks Brothers Omotesando from Saturday, September 28th to Sunday, October 6th, and will offer over 250 vintage Brooks Brothers items.

The store will have a wide selection of items, including the brand’s signature polo collar shirts, short-sleeved polo shirts made in collaboration with LACOSTE from the 1960s and 1970s, and mouton ranch coats. This will be an opportunity to see rare vintage items all in one place.
