Al-Khuloud and Al-Oruba Share Points in Thrilling 3-3 Draw

Al-Khuloud and Al-Oruba played out a thrilling 3-3 draw at the Al-Hazm Club Stadium in Al-Ras on Sunday, in the third round of the Saudi Roshan League.

The match marked the second draw between the two teams across their matches in the first and second divisions, and the first in the Roshan League. The hosts took an early lead through Malian Aliou Dieng in the 10th minute, but Ivorian Jean-Michel Seri equalized for Al-Oruba in the 27th minute, as the first half ended in a 1-1 draw.

Early in the second half, Iceland’s Johan Berg Gudmundsson added the second goal for Al-Oruba, but Al-Khuloud came back to equalize through Spaniard Alex Quiado in the 52nd minute. Al-Oruba then added the third goal through Ghana’s Emmanuel Boateng, before the hosts managed to draw level through Comorian Miziani Maulida in the 89th minute.

With this result, the two teams shared their first points in the Roshan League. Al-Khuloud had previously lost 0-1 to Al-Ittihad and 1-3 to Al-Riyadh, while Al-Oruba had lost 0-2 to Al-Ahli and 1-2 to Al-Wahda in the first and second rounds.

The two teams have a long history of competition, having faced each other in the previous ten matches in the first and second division leagues. Al-Khuloud won five of those matches, Al-Oruba won four, and the teams drew on one occasion.

In the fourth round, Al-Khuloud will host Al-Wahda on Thursday, September 19, while Al-Oruba will host Al-Fateh on the same day.
