Microsoft Publisher to End Support in October 2026

Microsoft Publisher, a desktop publishing software provided as part of Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365, will no longer be supported after October 2026. This announcement was made on Microsoft’s support page.

Following the end of support, Microsoft Publisher will no longer be included in Microsoft 365, and existing on-premises suites will no longer receive support. Although support will continue until then, its use is not recommended. Additionally, Publisher will not be included in the upcoming Office 2024 release.

Features and Alternatives

Microsoft Publisher is a tool that enables users to create business documents and printed materials with sophisticated layouts. Its features include templates, envelopes, labels, calendars, and business cards. With the end of support for Publisher, these features may be replaced with other existing Microsoft 365 applications such as Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Create.

In preparation for the discontinuation of Publisher, Microsoft plans to expand the functionality of its Microsoft 365 application and explore ways to replace it with newer features. We will provide updates as more information becomes available.
