The trade was confirmed as the Titans’ final move during the first day of the 2026 NFL Draft, which began on April 23, 2026, at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh. The draft officially started at 8 p.m. ET, with rounds two and three scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. ET the following day.

The Miami Dolphins also moved up in the first round, trading with the San Francisco 49ers to secure the 27th overall pick and select cornerback Chris Johnson. The Dolphins gave up their 2026 first-round pick (No. 30) and a fourth-round pick (No. 138) to complete the deal, with the 49ers receiving the 30th pick and a third-round pick (No. 90).

The New York Jets re-entered the first round later in the evening by trading with the 49ers to obtain the 30th overall pick, which had originally come from the Denver Broncos via the Miami Dolphins.
