The Serie A match between Torino and Inter Milan ended in a 2-2 draw on April 26, 2026, with Inter failing to hold a two-goal lead as Torino staged a late comeback to secure a crucial point in the title race.

Inter took the lead in the 23rd minute when Marcus Thuram headed in a cross from Federico Dimarco to make it 0-1. The visitors doubled their advantage in the 61st minute through Yann Bisseck, who also scored with a header from another Dimarco assist, leaving Inter 2-0 up.

Torino responded in the second half, with Giovanni Simeone reducing the deficit in the 70th minute after exchanging passes with Ilkhan and finishing with a delicate touch over Inter goalkeeper Yann Sommer. Nine minutes later, in the 79th minute, Nikola Vlašić converted a penalty kick to level the score at 2-2, completing the comeback for the home side.

The penalty was awarded after a handball by Inter’s Carlos Augusto, which match officials deemed to be in an unnatural position. Multiple outlets, including Sportmediaset and Eurosport, confirmed that referee Mariani pointed to the spot following a VAR review, determining that Augusto’s arm was not in a natural position when the ball struck it.

Despite the draw, Inter remain in a strong position to clinch the Serie A title. According to reports from Gazzetta.it, the Nerazzurri could still win the championship if they defeat Parma in their next match, regardless of the result in Turin. Torino’s coach Paolo Vanoli praised his team’s resilience, noting the importance of the response after going two goals down.

Dimarco was again influential in the build-up to both Inter goals, extending his lead in the Serie A assist rankings to 17 for the season. His consistent delivery from set-pieces and open play has been a key feature of Inter’s attacking play throughout the campaign.

The result means Inter have now dropped points in consecutive matches, having previously been held to a draw by Genoa. However, with only one game remaining and a superior goal difference, the title remains within their grasp. A win against Parma would secure Inter’s 20th Serie A title and the first for head coach Andrea Chivu in his managerial career.

Torino, meanwhile, have gone four matches unbeaten, building momentum late in the season. Their ability to recover from two-goal deficits highlights their fighting spirit, even as their own European ambitions have faded.
