Gretchen Atilano’s Vision for Animal Welfare
Mayor Gretchen Atilano has been at the forefront of this project since it’s inception. She stated:
When I was a councilor, we discovered that there were no concrete projects for animal welfare. From scratch, we began to work on a regulation and an operating plan that includes services such as sterilization, veterinary medical care and vaccination, in addition to the construction of a specific place for animal care such as CECOBAM. The installation of this technical area is a fundamental step, in accordance with the Law of Protection and Dignified Treatment for Animals.
Atilano’s leadership highlights the municipality’s dedication to creating extensive animal welfare programs.
Key Components of the Animal Welfare Plan:
- Sterilization services
- Veterinary medical care
- Vaccination programs
- Dedicated animal care facilities (CECOBAM)
