TMC MP Saayoni Ghosh’s speech promoting religious harmony has gone viral again after she recited chants from multiple faiths during a rally in Bhabanipur, West Bengal, on April 26, 2026. The Lok Sabha member addressed a public gathering in support of party candidates for Baruipur Paschim and Baruipur Purba constituencies, describing the area as “mini India” where people from different religions coexist peacefully.
In her speech, Ghosh invoked prayers from Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, and Christian traditions, including the Sanskrit mantra “Ya Devi Sarvabhuteshu Shakti Rupen Sansthita” from the Durga Saptashati, the Islamic declaration “La ilaha illallah, Muhammadur Rasulullah, Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim,” and the Sikh Mool Mantar. She blended Bangla, Hindi, and Punjabi in her address, reflecting the cultural diversity of the region.
Ghosh accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of attempting to divide such pluralistic spaces, stating that the party seeks to undermine communal harmony. Sharing the video on X (formerly Twitter), she captioned it: “Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian, We’ll live among ourselves as brothers.”
The speech was delivered during a rally in Bhabanipur, the constituency from where West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is contesting the assembly elections. Ghosh has previously faced criticism from BJP leaders over similar remarks made during campaign events.
Her latest address has drawn renewed attention for its emphasis on pluralism and political messaging, reinforcing her role as a prominent campaign face for the Trinamool Congress in West Bengal. The constituency is set for a high-stakes electoral battle against BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari.
