Exclusive Broadcast Rights Secured
Warner Bros. Discovery has secured exclusive UK live broadcast and digital media rights for the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, Commonwealth Sport confirmed. Coverage will be delivered through TNT Sports, a dedicated channel in the UK and Ireland, offering over 600 hours of programming.
Streaming on HBO Max
Every sport and event from the Glasgow Games will be streamed on HBO Max following its UK launch in March 2026. This builds on Warner Bros. Discovery’s growing sports portfolio, which already includes exclusive rights to the Olympic Games Paris 2024 and the olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026, as part of a long-term agreement with the International Olympic Committee and European Broadcasting Union extending through Brisbane 2032.
Warner Bros. Discovery’s coverage of the Olympic Games Paris 2024 reportedly more than doubled UK television audiences compared to Tokyo 2020 and quadrupled streaming minutes, demonstrating the company’s reach and engagement.
Glasgow 2026 Games Details
The Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games are scheduled to take place between July 23 and August 2. The event will feature approximately 3,000 athletes from 74 nations and territories competing across 10 sports and 6 Para sports.Competition will be held within an 8-mile corridor of Glasgow venues, with 215 gold medals contested across 133 sessions.
International broadcast Partnerships
This UK deal follows other broadcast agreements secured by Commonwealth Sport. In April 2025, the Seven Network renewed its exclusive Australian rights for both the Glasgow 2026 and Amdavad 2030 Commonwealth Games. Similarly, in July 2025, Sky New Zealand was confirmed as the exclusive broadcast partner for New zealand and the Pacific Islands.
Strategic alignment for Commonwealth Sport
