Christoph Ehrenfellner Violin/Viola [official site]
Born in Salzburg. He is one of the most talented musicians from Austria, and has established a unique style that fuses traditional Viennese music with his experience as a violinist, conductor, and composer. After starting his career as an assistant conductor at the Opéra National de Lorraine (France), he was selected as a composer in residence at the Orchestre Symphonique de Mulhouse (France) and the Seiji Ozawa International Academy in Switzerland, and is now expanding his field of activity to the entire world, starting from Europe. As a composer, he released his fourth new opera, Karl & Anna, this year, and received a huge ovation from the audience, just as he did when he released his third symphony last year. His ballet music, released in 2018, has also received enthusiastic support from audiences, and he is set to receive the composition award at the International Classical Music Awards to be held in Düsseldorf in 2025.
As a conductor, his repertoire ranges from classical to contemporary music, and in recent years he will lead the Youth Opera Project and conduct Offenbach’s opera “The Tales of Hoffmann” at the Salzburg Festival in 2024 and the Gala Concert of the International Classical Music Award in 2025. He is also committed to nurturing young musicians, and has been a judge and instructor at the Vienna International Youth Festival, held every July in the Vienna Philharmonic Hall (Golden Hall) for over 10 years. In addition, he has taught all over the world, including at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz (Austria) and the prestigious Academy for young musicians held every summer in Grafenegg near Vienna, and has also taught at the Toho Gakuen School of Music. He has toured with the Vienna Youth Orchestra four times in the past. He served as assistant conductor at the Opéra National de Lorraine (France) from 2010 to 2013, principal conductor and artistic director at the Beethoven Philharmonie Baden (Austria) from 2011 to 2016, and principal conductor at the Walla Philharmonic Salzburg (Austria) from 2008 to 2018. He is an honorary member of the Japan-Austria Cultural Association. His book “Art and Money” is published by Saarbrücken Verlag (Germany).

Yoko Fujii Clarinet

Former principal clarinetist of the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra. Professor emeritus at Toho Gakuen College of Music. Part-time lecturer at Toho Gakuen School of Music.
While studying at Toho Gakuen School of Music, she moved to France. She graduated from the Conservatoire de Paris with first prize in both the clarinet and chamber music departments. She has given recitals at the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan Small Hall (1996, 2009), Vienna Concertohaus Recital Hall (2008), and Hakuju Hall (2011, 2012, 2014). She has performed solo with the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra on numerous occasions. She won first place at the 1st Japan Clarinet Competition, second place at the 2nd Japan Wind and Percussion Competition (no first place winners), and a silver medal at the Toulon International Competition. She studied under Yuji Furusawa, Kazuko Ninomiya, Guy Deplus, and Jacques Lancelot. Since May 2014, she has been performing regularly with Mari Dewa (piano) at the Miyaji Gakki Hall (Koganei Civic Center) (Ensemble Fontana series).

Masako Honda Piano

She won first place in the elementary school division of the 29th All Japan Student Competition. She won the gold prize at the PTNA Piano Competition. She completed her graduate studies at Tokyo University of the Arts. During her time at the university, she was selected for the 52nd Japan Music Competition, won a prize at the Japan Chamber Music Competition, and received the Ataka Prize at her university. In 1987, she entered the University of Music in Cologne in the former West Germany as a DAAD scholarship student, and graduated with the highest honors. She performed with the NHK Symphony Orchestra in the “Young Buds Concert” and with the Tokyo University of the Arts Philharmonic Orchestra at the Tokyo University of the Arts Regular New Graduates Concert. In 1994, she won the Agency for Cultural Affairs Artistic Work Award as a pianist for the CD “Contemporary Japanese Violin Music: Excerpts” (Vn Atsuko Tenma). Since 2008, she has been holding chamber music recitals every year, inviting former Vienna Philharmonic principal cellist Skocic, Vienna Symphony principal violist Muller, and violinist Ehrenfellner. He has also released a CD of all of Beethoven’s violin sonatas with violinist Ehrenfellner. He has served as a part-time lecturer at Showa University of Music and the Tokyo University of the Arts High School, and is involved in judging various seminars and competitions as a director of the All Japan Piano Teachers Association.
