Llamas Sees ratings Rise in Second Week on NBC Nightly News
Tom Llamas, the new anchor for NBC Nightly News, saw an increase in viewership during his second week, even though the broadcast still trails ABC’s World News Tonight. Llamas took over the anchor role from lester Holt, who departed in May after a decade with the program. Llamas’s appointment was announced in March, and he officially began on June 2.
NBC Nightly News averaged 5.663 million viewers, a 4% increase from the previous week’s 5.449 million. The show also saw a 9% increase in the 25-54 demographic, reaching 844,000 viewers, up from 771,000.
Despite the gains, World news Tonight with David Muir on ABC maintained its lead, averaging 7.248 million viewers. ABC also experienced a 4% increase in total viewers and a 10% increase in the 25-54 demographic, reaching 1 million viewers.
CBS Evening News averaged 4.159 million total viewers and 547,000 in the 25-54 demographic. This represented a 7% increase in total viewers and a 6% increase in the key demographic compared to the previous week.
